Brian Swett lived in Alaska for close to thirty years where he was an educator, a coach, a husband and a father. Small town Alaska shaped his adult life. It encouraged independence, self-reliance, and a love of the wilderness in which he lived. Whether hiking, skiing, packrafting, or camping there were always unique sights, sounds, and experiences to be had. Now in Pagosa Springs to be close to his grandchildren, he has discovered again a small town and a wilderness in which to live and grow. All of these factors influence his love of the rhythms of the wheel and the feel of clay taking shape in his hands. His desire to create functional pieces with pleasing forms and harmonic colors.
